How To Pick The Best Fitness Weight Loss Products To Use

Due to market demands, every where you look nowdays there seems to be a exercise or health supplement store of every block. It was not that long ago that if one wished to purchase bodybuilding or exercise supplements, one needed to purchase them at a gym or one needed to purchase them via mail order through the body building magazines that are common to newsstands. Yes, there were the occasional GNC style health stores, but they were far and few between.

Now, one can purchase fitness weight loss products virtually everywhere, including the supermarket. But are these fitness weight loss products useful?

Most of these weight loss products are designed to stimulate the metabolism and/or suppress appetite. At one time, these types of fitness weight loss products were highly successful with what they promised to do because they contained the now illegal ingredient ephedra, the natural form of the pharmaceutical ephedrine. Because of various health risks, ephedra based weight loss products have been banned.

So, are the fitness weight loss products on the market today as useful as the more powerful one of the ephedra days? The products are not useless, but their strength is significantly weaker. The positive to this, however, is that they do not come with the stroke and heart attack risks common with ephedra.

Perhaps everything will change when the prescription only weight loss drug Xenical makes its way to over the counter sales in late 2006. While this is not a fitness weight loss product because a fat blocker is hardly the root of what fitness entails, but it should give the fitness weight loss products that are currently available on the market a huge run for their money. Perhaps, the OTC version of the drug may end up putting the other products out of business altogether, Who knows? Time will ultimately tell.
